About

I hold a degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Stellenbosch and have long been drawn to understanding human behaviour and its integration with spirituality.

My journey with the Enneagram began in January 2000, when I was introduced to it by Sister Doris Gastonguay. Since then, I have remained a devoted student of this transformative system. I completed my formal Enneagram studies under the guidance of co-founders Helen Palmer and the late David Daniels, and have been teaching the Enneagram in South Africa, Malawi, and Namibia since 2003.

In 2013, I had the privilege of bringing David Daniels and Peter O’Hanrahan to South Africa to facilitate the first Enneagram Professional Training Program (EPTP) on the African continent.

“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything.
Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you,
so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”

~ Paulo Coelho

I am a certified teacher and associate trainer of the Enneagram Professional Training Program (EPTP) with The Narrative Enneagram. Over the past 34 years, more than 3,000 participants across 17 countries have attended the EPTP, with over 1,000 becoming certified Enneagram teachers in the Narrative Tradition. This tradition is deeply committed to fostering spaces that welcome, celebrate, and encourage a diversity of experiences and perspectives.

I have also completed Teacher Training Certification as a Professional Enneagram Teacher with Russ Hudson, Jessica Dibb, and Gayle Scott, and I am currently pursuing an international qualification in Breathwork. Additionally, I had the privilege of attending two teaching programs with the late Dr Claudio Naranjo, widely regarded as the father of the modern Enneagram of Personality.

For ten years (2014–2024), I served as part of the faculty of a two-year training program for Spiritual Directors, where I contributed to the formation of individuals on the path of spiritual companionship. This program emphasized Prayer of the Heart and contemplative practice as a way of life. The Enneagram formed an integral part of this journey, based on the understanding that our personality can both limit and illuminate our spiritual growth. The depth of our relationship with others and with God is closely linked to the depth of our self-awareness.

I am a spiritual director and a member of Spiritual Directors International (SDI), a global learning community that supports the practice of spiritual direction for all who seek deeper meaning and connection on their journey.

As an accredited Professional Member of the International Enneagram Association (IEA), I have facilitated workshops for diverse audiences, including small groups, churches, business leaders, and government executives in South Africa, Malawi, and Namibia.

On a personal note, I met my Austrian husband, Robert, while travelling through Malawi in 1990, and we married in 1992. We spent 16 years living in Malawi, where three of our children were born at Nkhoma Missionary Hospital. Today, we are blessed with four grown children and two grandchildren, and we live in Pretoria, South Africa.

I find joy in family life, the ocean, hiking, swimming, body surfing, scuba diving, reading, travelling, and experiencing God through the lens of my camera.

My own Enneagram journey has been a profound gift. I do not see the Enneagram as the alpha and omega of personal or spiritual growth, but rather as a map—a guide that points toward deeper awareness beyond everyday consciousness. Through this work, I have come to recognize my own patterns, type structure, and instinctive dynamics, which once kept me confined in fixed ways of being.

Gradually, I have come to understand that the spiritual journey is not about striving to become something new, but about honestly recognizing and integrating what already exists within. Transformation is less about doing and more about seeing—about becoming aware of what needs to grow, soften, or be released.

This is a lifelong path where psychological, spiritual, and somatic dimensions meet. My prayer is to nurture a spirit of curiosity—to remain open, teachable, and deeply aware that there is always more to discover: within myself, within others, and within God.
